Key details

Old and new prices

Prices are Volcengine’s list price plus 20%. The markup covers taxes, currency conversion and cross-border settlement, platform operations, and technical support. Prices are in USD per 1M tokens, without / with an input video: Per-video examples and the estimation formula are in Seedance billing and pricing. A task’s actual charge is the sum of its pre-charge and settlement rows in your call logs.

Who is affected

  • Most requests: Seedance 2.5 at 480p and 720p, and every resolution of Seedance 2.0, fast, and mini, cost about 5% less per token.
  • Seedance 2.5 at 1080p: previously billed at the 480p and 720p rate, it now uses Volcengine’s 1080p rate, about 5% more per token.
  • Unchanged: the request format, the token group, and how the two log rows reconcile.

What to do

  1. No code or token changes. Existing requests and SeeDance2 tokens keep working.
  2. Update your cost estimates. Use the new prices above, and re-check budgets if you generate a lot of Seedance 2.5 video at 1080p.

Frequently asked questions

Why did the prices change?

Video models are now priced at 1.2× the official list price, and the markup covers taxes, currency conversion and cross-border settlement, platform operations, and technical support. Seedance was at about 1.26×, so it comes down to the same standard.

Why does Seedance 2.5 at 1080p cost more now?

Volcengine charges more per token for Seedance 2.5 at 1080p (¥77) than at 480p and 720p (¥70). LaoZhang API used to bill 1080p at the lower rate and now follows Volcengine’s tiers.
