Key details

New prices

Wan video is now priced at Alibaba Cloud Model Studio’s list price plus 20%. The markup covers taxes, currency conversion and cross-border settlement, platform operations, and technical support. The Wan group multiplier moves from 0.15 to 0.1714, which works out to about 1.2× the list price at the fixed 1:7 exchange rate. Tasks with an input video, such as video editing or a reference video, are billed for input seconds plus output seconds. The rules and worked examples are in Wan billing and pricing. Each task’s actual charge is in your call logs.

What Wan 3.0 does

Wan 3.0 is the video model Alibaba Cloud opened for public testing in August 2026. A single model ID works out the task from the inputs you send:
  • Text to video, up to 30 seconds, at 480P, 720P, or 1080P
  • Video from a first frame, or from a first and last frame
  • Reference to video, with up to 10 reference images and up to 5 reference videos and 5 reference audio clips
  • Video editing and video extension
Both models have the same capabilities. wan3.0-video-prime generates faster and costs 1.5× as much per second. For request examples, see Wan 3.0 video generation.

Who is affected

  • Wan 2.7 users: the price per second rises by about 14%. Requests don’t change.
  • Integrations still calling Wan 2.6: requests now fail with Current group Wan has no available channels for model wan2.6-..., so switch models.
  • Not affected: prices and models in other groups, such as Seedance.

What to do

  1. Replace Wan 2.6 with a model that does the same job. Wan 2.7 and Wan 3.0 use a different request body from Wan 2.6; see the Wan guide for the format:
    • Set the resolution with parameters.resolution, for example 720P, instead of size.
    • Put every image and video in input.media[] instead of img_url.
  2. Update your cost estimates. Set resolution and duration on every request and estimate from the table above. Without resolution, both Wan 2.7 and Wan 3.0 output and bill at 1080P.
  3. Try Wan 3.0. Keep your current Wan token and set model to wan3.0-video or wan3.0-video-prime.

Frequently asked questions

Why did the price change?

Wan video is billed by converting Alibaba Cloud’s list price into your USD balance. The 20% markup covers taxes, currency conversion and cross-border settlement, platform operations, and technical support, and it applies at the same rate to every model and resolution.

Should I use wan3.0-video or wan3.0-video-prime?

They have the same capabilities and parameters. Use wan3.0-video for high volume when speed isn’t critical, and wan3.0-video-prime when you need results sooner; it costs 1.5× as much per second. Compare quality and turnaround with your own prompts before you switch production traffic.

Why does one Wan task show two charges?

The requested length is charged when you create the task, and the charge is settled against the seconds Alibaba Cloud reports when the task finishes. Tasks with an input video also count the input seconds, so they often get a second entry that adjusts the charge. See the Wan guide FAQ.
